I admire the enduring capacity of a human being to hope. Even when one is encapsulated in darkness with just one last match to bring light to an otherwise scary, unreliable and unknown future or environment that might bring forth the end or death or anything that is final…
we still hope. And I’m thankful.

I actually read The Wise Man’s Fear first (2nd book) before The Name of the Wind (1st book) simply because I thought the 2nd book was the 1st book. But no worries, I recently read the 1st book and now the story’s all crystal clear to me.
AND AMAZING. One of the few fantasy novels that really got me sucked into the story. The way the author meticulously and “scientifically” explained magic in the story plus the culture of different races in the world are my favorite parts. AND HELLO, I love the Archives.

Humanization of the Defragmenter.
I wanted to do a geometric/ abstract work so I started with block and ended up with this. A personification of what a disk defragmenter would look like. Something one dimensional (since all it does is mechanically defrag), and the theme of order and disorder with the blocks and discs.
Don’t forget to Defrag guys.
Inspired by Hayao Miyazaki art, Oriental village with its earth spirit protector. Adobe Photoshop. Gave me an opportunity to practice digital painting since I’m not very good at it.
STASIS, noun: a period of inactivity or equilibrium
A passing thought on my progress as a human being. If we stop growing physical, mentally, talent-wise and etc. then we decay. We can’t always live in happiness (even if we say that we want to living in that certain moment forever) , we need sadness and struggles to define the good times one experiences.
Growing doesn’t mean only taking the ‘right’ path (cuz there will always be ‘wrong’ paths) but remembering the paths we choose correctly for us to be able to choose the paths that one deems ‘right’ more frequently.
Ran out of moleskine pages. This is the last page, my moleskine’s epitaph. Burned through about 4 sketchbooks from high school to college.
